Waste Water Treatment Plant Odour Reduction Plan
Public Information Meeting
Thursday, October 16, 2014
Come & Go 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Lawson Heights School LRC
430 Redberry Road
You are invited to learn about our current upgrades that will reduce day-to-day odours from the Wastewater Treatment Plant by up to 76 per cent.
In Saskatoon, we depend upon and value our natural environment, including our clean air. The Wastewater Treatment Plant handles the wastewater from thousands of homes and businesses in our community, and can be a source of odours. These odours generated several complaints each year from nearby residents.
We listened, Saskatoon!
In 2012, we did an Odour Study to determine where changes could be made to reduce odours. Now, with funding in place, we are making process upgrades and site plan changes that produce less odour and introducing new changes to eliminate some of the odour-causing materials. When we are done, the nuisance odour coming from the plant will be far less, improving the quality of life for residents, businesses and visitors in our north end!
