RUN, JUMP, THROW LIKE A GIRL EVENT SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2013

The City of Saskatoon will be hosting Run, Jump, Throw Like a Girl on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at SaskTel Sports Centre (150 Nelson Road).

Run, Jump, Throw Like a Girl is a free one day event for girls ages 10 to 14.

This event will provide the ultimate learn-to track and field opportunity as girls receive coaching and demonstrations from world class athletes and coaches.

The sessions will be lead by:

  • Perdita Felician (Hurdles) Olympian, World Champion, Medalist – Indoor and Outdoor World Championships, Medalist – Pan American Games
  • Kelsie Hendry (Pole Vault) Saskatoon-born Olympian, Medalist – Commonwealth Games
  • Carla Nicholls (Coach) National Team Coach – Jumps, combined events and hurdles, World Championships, Pan American Junior Championships, and much more!
  • Sarah Junkin (Coach) Program Coordinator Saskatchewan Athletics; Team Saskatchewan Coach
  • “We are honoured to have these talented athletes join us for the day. With their involvement and the support of our partners, The City of Saskatoon has been able to offer opportunities for girls to participate in new activities and be healthy and active for life,” said Lynne Lacroix, Manager, Community Development Branch.

    This free event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and snacks and supper will be provided to all registrants. To register, call 306-975-3378 by September 4th.

    Run, Jump, Throw Like a Girl is being hosted by the City of Saskatoon Community Development Branch in partnership with Saskatchewan Athletics, Sask Sport Inc., Women in Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation, and Canadian Sport Centre - Saskatchewan.
