NatureCity Festival: Call for Participation

The second running of Wild about Saskatoon’s award-winning NatureCity Festival is set to go from May 25 to 31, 2014. Our goal is to show off the wild side of the City of Saskatoon: the magnificent river valley, parks, conservation areas, gardens and urban forests, together with all the fascinating wild critters and native plants that are found all around us. At the same time, we also want to highlight the work you and your organization are doing to connect your friends and neighbours with the natural world.

What we need from you: your participation. The entire Festival week is open for your events. Please feel free to contribute whatever you and your organization do best: tours, field trips, lectures, children’s activities, garden bees, family fun nights, music, art shows, performance – whatever you can dream up to remind the residents of Saskatoon that their home city is naturally full of interest, adventure and surprises.

To participate, simply go to our website, www.wildaboutsaskatoon.org , click on the Festival 2014 tab and choose Submit Your Events Here.

To attract as wide a public as possible, we invite you to consider the needs and interests of specific “target audiences,” including children of different ages, families with working parents, seniors, First Nations and Métis people, new Canadians and disabled people. If you need help connecting with a new audience, please let us know and we will do our best to connect you with an advisor.

If you were involved last year, you'll know that we made a strong beginning, with participation of more than 70 organizations and businesses, and attendance of around 1,200. Plans are afoot to make the 2014 Festival even more exciting and meaningful than last year’s event. But we can’t do it without you.

By submitting your events early, you will give us time to fine-tune the calendar (so events intended for the same audience don't go head to head) and to promote your activities as widely as possible. If you have any questions, drop us a line and one of us will do our best to help.

We can't wait to hear from you!
