I’m happy to announce that the Silverwood Heights Community Association is offering our first-ever summer boot camp classes!
The summer boot camp will be run outdoors at the park by the canoe launch area by Pinehouse and Whiteswan from 6-7 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in July (last class July 26th). There are washrooms and a water fountain close-by. The cost for this twice-a-week session will be $25. The following is a description of the class:
Full Body Outdoor Boot Camp (ages 17+) - Strength, agility, flexibility, balance and cardio fitness. Expect to sweat. Come prepared for a challenging workout that uses a variety of equipment, including benches and play structures, and also concentrates on body weight exercise. You will need athletic foot wear (not sandals or shoes that favour fashion over function). You will also need a large water bottle, and a mat. It is recommended that you bring a pair of cycling or weight lifting gloves to protect your hands while performing exercises on the grass, and that you wear a hat. A long sleeved shirt is recommended to ward off any bugs. Norma will be instructing the group.
The dates the boot camp would run would be: July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 from 6-7 pm (Tuesdays and Thursdays). We will discuss and plan for August dates if there is a demand for it.
